Proposition 27 is supported by seven sports betting operators, including DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM, and would allow online sports betting companies to offer mobile wagering throughout California in partnership with tribal casinos. Proposition 26, which is backed by a coalition of nearly two dozen Indian tribes, would only authorize in-person sports betting at tribal casinos and horse racing tracks.
They say competing messages from tribal casinos, online sports betting operators and sports leagues, along with the back-to-back presentation of the ballot questions, are confusing voters more than sending positive messages.
